The author shows that the helicity operator for a massless neutrino is not, in general, conserved in curved spaces in quantum formalism by calculating the commutator of the helicity operator with the Hamiltonian of the system in a static metric. Next, the probability of a helicity flip of a massless neutrino is calculated. The flip occurs because in the interaction Lagrangian density the helicity is coupled to the curvature of spacetime, the metric to satisfy the adiabatic hypothesis pertaining to switching on and off the gravitational field).
