The author studies the solutions of the linear vector difference equation \(P_{k+1}= \alpha P_k+ \beta P_{k-1}\). The solutions are generalized parabolas or exponential spirals. For special values of the fixed parameters \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) one can obtain hyperbolas or parabolas. The formulas and properties needed to use solution curves of the equations as elements of curve drawings in computer aided design are developed in full.
