    The Omori-Yau maximum principle was first proved by \textit{H. Omori} [J. Math. Soc. Jap. 19, 205-214 (1967; Zbl 0154.21501)] and generalized by \textit{S. T. Yau} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 28, 201-228 (1975; Zbl 0297.31005)]. In the paper, it is shown that the Omori-Yau maximum principle is still valid under weaker curvature assumptions. This results implies non-existence of solutions for some ordinary differential inequalities and for some problems concerning conformal deformations and immersibility.
