A self-dual association scheme \({\mathcal X} = (X, \{R_i\}_{0 \leq i \leq d})\) has the modular invariance property if there exists a diagonal matrix \(T = \text{diag} (t_0, t_1, \dots, t_d)\) with \(t_0 \neq 0\) such that \((\overline PT)^3 = tD^3I\), where \(P\) is the first eigenmatrix of \({\mathcal X}, D^2 = |X |\), and \(I\) is the identity matrix. There is a close link between generalized spin models and association schemes. Many generalized spin models have been constructed from the Bose-Mesner algebra of self-dual association schemes which have the modular invariance property. Etsuko Bannai has authored (coauthored) published research about the relations between generalized spin models and association schemes. In this paper he gives a complete lists of diagonal matrices \(T\) which give the modular invariance property of the association schemes on finite cyclic groups along with their symmetrizations. The corresponding generalized spin models are also presented.
