A new class of interpolating splines, called sinusoidal splines, is introduced. Basic properties of these splines are discussed. By forming a strict convex combination of sinusoidal splines and Bézier splines the author shows that the blended splines can serve as a tool in curve design. Their behavior is similar to that of splines under tension. A generalization to tensor surfaces is briefly discussed.
