In [Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo (2) 57, No. 3, 343--352 (2008; Zbl 1192.46050)], \textit{A. El Kinani} gave weighted versions of the classical Wiener theorem and its extension due to Lévy. These weighted results concerned \({\mathcal A}^p(\omega)\) defined as the collection of \(f:{\mathbb R}\to {\mathbb C}\) such that \(f(t) = \sum_{n=-\infty}^\infty a_n e^{int}\) with \((a_n)\in \ell^p({\mathbb Z},\omega)\), \(1<p<\infty\). The assumptions on the weight \(\omega\) were that \(\omega^{1/(1-p)}\in \ell^1({\mathbb Z})\), that \(\omega^{1/(1-p)} * \omega^{1/(1-p)} \leq \gamma \omega^{1/(1-p)}\) for some constant \(\gamma>0\), and that \(\lim_{|n|\to\infty} \omega(|n|)^{1/n} = 1\). In the paper under review, the authors discard the final condition, add the assumption that \(\omega\) is submultiplicative, and show new analogues for the theorems of Wiener and Lévy. The analogue of Wiener's theorem in the new context is the following: If \(f\in {\mathcal A}^p(\omega)\) never vanishes, then there exists a suitable weight \(\varphi\) on \({\mathbb Z}\) such that \(f^{-1}\in {\mathcal A}^p(\varphi)\). The analogue of Lévy's theorem is formulated similarly. These results are similar to those of \textit{S.~J.~Bhatt} and \textit{H.~V.~Dedania} [Proc. Indian Acad. Sci., Math. Sci. 113, No. 2, 179--182 (2003; Zbl 1034.42005)] concerning the case \(p=1\) (although, in the paper under review, the above-mentioned additional conditions on the weight are needed to make \({\mathcal A}^p(\omega)\) a Banach algebra).
