In many applications the interactions of quantum particles with charged hypersurfaces are usually described by Schrödinger operators with \(\delta\) and \(\delta'\)-potentials supported on hypersurfaces. In this work the mentioned Schrödinger operators are studied using the quasi boundary triple techniques. As a consequence of this approach, some variants of Krein's formula and the Birman-Schwinger principle were obtained. Moreover, the authors compare the powers of the resolvents of the singularly perturbed self-adjoint Schrödinger operators with the powers of the resolvents of the unperturbed Schrödinger operator obtaining the singular value estimates (Schatten-von Neumann estimates) important in the analysis of elliptic differential operators. Finally, as a direct consequence of these estimates the existence and completeness of wave operators for certain scattering pairs arising in quantum mechanics has been shown. The main techniques used in proofs of main results in this paper are abstract methods from extension theory of symmetric operators and results on elliptic regularity.
