In this paper the authors study weakly V-rings (WV-rings) introduced and studied by \textit{C. J. Holston, S. K. Jain} and \textit{A. Laroy} [cf. Glasg. Math. J. 52A, 103-110 (2010; Zbl 1208.16006)] (we refer to this as (HJL)). Here the authors study WV-rings which are not V-rings. These rings the authors call strictly WV-rings. In their first theorem (Theorem 4) they study a strictly right WV-ring \(R\). They prove that \(J=J(R)\) is the only nontrivial ideal of \(R\), \(J\) is a minimal right ideal of \(R\) and \(R/J\) is a simple right V-domain. Further they prove that (i) \(R\) is left Artinian and right uniserial of composition length 2 if and only if \(J\) is finitely generated as a left ideal of \(R\); (ii) \(R\) is right uniserial of composition length 2 if and only if \(R\) satisfies ACC on left annihilators; (iii) \(R\) is strictly left WV-ring if and only if \(R\) is a Frobenius local ring. In the next section the authors get sufficient conditions for a WV-ring to be Noetherian. Here they say an \(R\)-module \(M\) satisfies the condition (*) if \(M\) is a direct sum of a projective module \(P\) and an \(R\)-module \(Q\) which is either extending or has finite uniform dimension. In their second theorem (Theorem 12) they prove that if \(M\) is a finitely generated \(R\)-module each cyclic subfactor of which satisfies the condition (*) stated above then every factor module of \(M\) has finite uniform dimension. Using this theorem they deduce some corollaries which generalize the well known results for right Noetherian rings to right WV-rings. These corollaries and their second theorem are generalizations of some of the results of (HJL).
