Summary: Recently the generalized Hyers-Ulam (or Hyers-Ulam-Rassias) stability of the following functional equation \(\sum^m_{j=1}f(-r_jx_j + \sum_{1 \leq i \leq m, i \neq j}r_ix_i) + 2\sum^m_{i=1}r_if(x_i) = mf(\sum^m_{i=1}r_ix_i)\) where \(r_1, \dots, r_m \in \mathbb R\), proved in Banach modules over a unital \(C^\ast\)-algebra. It was shown that if \(\sum^m_{i=1}r_i \neq 0\), \(r_i, r_j \neq 0\) for some \(1 \leq i < j \leq m\) and a mapping \(f : X \to Y\) satisfies the above mentioned functional equation then the mapping \(f : X \to Y\) is Cauchy additive. In this paper we prove the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the above mentioned functional equation in random normed spaces (briefly RNS).
