Adjunction Theory studies pairs composed by a variety \(X\) and an ample line bundle \(L\). In the paper under review the assumption on \(L\) is weakened. The line bundle \(L\) is only assumed to be nef. The assumption forces the authors to study only the positive part of the cone, with respect to \(L\). This can be seen as a way to use quasi-polarized manifolds instead of polarized varieties. In this set up the adjunction theory of \(K_X+rL\) is developed and many results of classical adjunction are generalized. The interested reader can also look at [\textit{M. Andreatta}, Int. J. Math. 24, No. 2, Paper No. 1350007, 13 p. (2013; Zbl 1273.14030)] for an approach with Minimal Model Techniques.
