Parameter-dependent systems on the half-line and free convection boundary-layers in porous media (Q1959339)

Previous results of the author [Math. Nachr. 282, No.~8, 1036--1078 (2009; Zbl 1191.34017)], on a boundary value problem for the equation \[ u'(t)+F(t,u(t),\xi ,\lambda )=0, \] are strengthened in the case when, for every value of the parameters \(\xi\) and \(\lambda\), \(F\) has a uniform asymptotic limit as \(t\to \infty\). The results are used to establish the existence of a new branch of solutions of a boundary value problem arising in the study of boundary layers for the free convection along a semi-infinite vertical plate embedded in a porous medium.
