Computing diagnostic is a quickly developing domain of theoretical and applied investigations. As a rule there is a necessity of constructing of some tests for numerical methods of solutions of different problems. A three-dimensional scalar model for finding the function \(u(\rho,q,\omega)\) which is a spectral amplitude of an acoustic field excited by point harmonic sources in a medium with the local inhomogeneity is considered. A distribution of a radiation is described by the wave Helmholtz equation \[ \Delta u(\rho,q,\omega) + \frac {\omega^2}{c^2 (\xi)}u(\rho,q,\omega)= A(\omega)\delta (\rho-q),\tag{1} \] where \(\rho \in {\mathbb{R}}^3\) with a frequency \(\omega\), \( q \in {\mathbb{R}}^3\) is a position of the point harmonical source of vibration, \( A(\omega)\) is an amplitude, \(c(\rho)\) is the phase velocity in the point \(\rho\), \( \delta (.)\) is the Dirac delta function. There are several difficulties in solving the Eq. (1) (or an equivalent integral equation with the Green function) by numerical methods: 1) the three-dimensionality of the problem induces a necessity of keeping a huge amount of database; 2) the stability of the algorithm of a numerical solution depends on values of the frequency \(\omega\) and the error is increasing for large values of \(\omega\). A variant of test investigations of numerical methods of solving the direct and the inverse problems (on the base of the above stated problem) by applying some analytical methods is disscused.
