Let \(G=\text{SO}(2n)\) be the complex special orthogonal group. It acts on \(V=\mathbb{C}^{2n}\) and hence on \(V^{\otimes k}\). Let \(E_k(2n)=\text{End}_G(V^{\otimes k})\) be the centralizer algebra consisting of transformations commuting with the \(G\)-action. In 1937, Richard Brauer showed that \(E_k(2n)\) is spanned by transformations \(\Phi(d)\) corresponding to diagrams \(d\). In the present paper a multiplication operation is introduced on the \(\mathbb{C}\)-linear span \(D_k(2n)\) of the diagrams. So \(D_k(2n)\) becomes an algebra, and \(\Phi\) extends to an algebra epimorphism. It is shown that \(E_k(2n)\) is the largest associative quotient of \(D_k(2n)\) when \(k\leq 2m\). Next, representations of \(E_k(2n)\) are studied.
