Suppose \(n>0\) and \(q\) is a primitive \(n\)th root of unity. Let \(\omega=q^{-1}\). \textit{E. J. Taft} [Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 68, 2631-2633 (1971; Zbl 0222.16012)] constructed the \(n^2\)-dimensional pointed Hopf algebra \(A_n(\omega)\cong H_n(q)\). In this paper, the author examines the irreducible representations \(D(A_n(\omega))\cong H_n(1,q)\) for \(n>1\). The classification of the irreducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-modules is given. It is shown that for any \(1\leq l,r\leq n\) there exists a unique \(l\)-dimensional irreducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-module \(V(l,r)\) and that any irreducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-module is isomorphic to some \(V(l,r)\). Up to isomorphisms, there are only \(n^2\) distinct irreducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-modules. And, the author considers the tensor product \(V(l,r)\otimes V(l',r')\) and \(\text{Soc}(V(l,r)\otimes V(l',r'))\) of two irreducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-modules \(V(l,r)\) and \(V(l',r')\). It is proved that \(V(l,r)\otimes V(l',r')\) is a completely reducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-module if and only if \(l+l'\leq n+1\). Moreover, the solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation is examined on an irreducible \(H_n(1,q)\)-module \(V(l,r)\) and the matrix form of the solution is given.
