The authors study the algebraic moments of a solution \((\vec v, P)\) to the first initial-boundary value problem for the Sobolev system in some class of domains \(g\). The most completely studied case is that in which the domain \(g\) is either a cylinder with generator parallel to the \(x_3\)-axis or an ellipsoid. In these cases, it was shown that a solution is almost periodic. In the case of general domains, the study of the problem faces greater difficulties due to the appearance of a continuous spectrum. In the article under consideration, the method of algebraic moments is proposed for some class of domains which yields some characteristics (the \(l\)th-order moments of the component \(P=P(x,y,z,t)\) of \((\vec v, P)\)) of a solution. The exposition is most complete in the case of a ball; for other domains, this method gives some isolated results.
