A time-dependent initial-boundary value problem for an one-dimensional parabolic equation on an infinite strip (in respect with the space variable) is considered. A second-order two-level difference scheme is presented. It is shown that to satisfy zero boundary conditions at infinity, a two-term recurrence can be used. It allows one to change an infinite grid by a finite one.
