The paper deals with finite representations of simple complex Lie algebras. A new formula for weight multiplicities is derived. The formula expresses the multiplicities as a sum of positive rational numbers. The author uses Heckmann-Opdam polynomials and intertwining relation for Cherednik operators to prove the results.
