[For part I see \textit{V. Lakshmibai}, Math. Res. Lett. 2, No. 4, 473-477 (1995; Zbl 0857.14027).] Let \(G\) be a semi-simple, simply connected algebraic group, \(T\) a maximal torus in \(G\), \(W=N_G(T)/T\) the Weyl group and \(R\subset X^*(T)\) the system of roots of \(G\) relative to \(T\). The adjoint representation of \(T\) on \(\text{Lie }G\) determines a decomposition \(\text{Lie }G=\text{Lie }T\oplus\bigoplus_{\alpha\in R}(\text{Lie }G)_\alpha\) and each \((\text{Lie }G)_\alpha\) is 1-dimensional. \(W\) acts by conjugation on \(T\) hence on \(X^*(T)\) and on \(R\). Let \(B\) be a Borel subgroup of \(G\) containing \(T\) and \(R^+\) the set of positive roots of \(R\) relative to \(B\). For \(w\in W\) let \(e_w\) be the point of \(G/B\) corresponding to the coset \(wB\). The \(T\)-fixed points of \(G/B\) for the action given by left multiplication are precisely \(e_w\), \(w\in W\). For \(w\in W\), let \(X(w)\) be the associated Schubert variety, i.e., the Zariski closure of \(Be_w\) in \(G/B\). For \(\tau\in W\), the tangent space to \(G/B\) at \(e_\tau\) can be identified to \(\bigoplus_{\beta\in\tau(R^+)}(\text{Lie }G)_{-\beta}\). For \(\tau\leq w\) (in the Bruhat order on \(W\)) the tangent space \(T(w,\tau)\) to \(X(w)\) at \(e_\tau\) is \(T\)-invariant, hence it is a direct sum of some \(\text{(Lie }G)_{-\beta}\). In this paper, the author determines, for \(G\) classical, the set of \(\beta\in\tau(R^+)\) for which \(\text{(Lie }G)_{-\beta}\subseteq T(w,\tau)\). For example, if \(G=SL(n)\) then \(\text{(Lie }G)_{-\beta}\subseteq T(w,\tau)\) iff \(w\geq s_\beta\tau\), where \(s_\beta\) is the reflection associated to \(\beta\). He also relates this result to multiplicities of certain weights in the fundamental representations of \(G\). The proofs are based on a result of \textit{P. Polo} [Indag. Math., New Ser. 5, 483-493 (1994; Zbl 0833.20050)] and on some previous results of the author.
