This really nice paper studies duadic sequences of prime lengths. Motivated by the observation that Legendre sequences linked to quadratic residue codes have nice properties, the authors wondered whether duadic sequences linked to duadic codes have also interesting properties (as do the codes). The authors determine the linear complexity of the newly defined sequences. Furthermore, they find an expression for the autocorrelation and crosscorrelation in terms of the newly introduced notion of cyclotomic numbers, which are cardinalities of certain cyclotomic classes. They also study the number of bigrams in a cycle and decimation properties of the duadic sequences.
