The engulfing property for sections of convex functions on the Heisenberg group and the associated quasi-distance (Q1979238)

The authors study the property of engulfing for \(H\)-convex functions defined on the Heisenberg group \(\mathcal{H}^n\) by proposing a new notion of section, called \textit{\(\mathcal{H}^n\)-section}, together with a new condition of engulfing associated to it, for an \(H\)-convex function defined on \(\mathcal{H}^n\). Such sections arise as suitable unions of horizontal sections and are dimensionally larger, and lead to the definition of a quasi-distance in \(\mathcal{H}^n\), extending thus earlier results from the literature in Euclidean spaces.
