The author introduces the concepts of MSF (minimally supported frequency) multiwavelets, multiwavelet sets, generalized scaling sets, and scaling sets in a local field of positive characteristic and provides their characterizations. Some examples of unbounded wavelet sets are constructed. It is shown that the corresponding wavelets are not associated with multiresolution analyses. In particular, the author shows the existence of non-MRA wavelets on the Cantor dyadic group (for examples of MRA-wavelets on this group, see [\textit{Yu. A. Farkov} et al., Construction of wavelets through Walsh functions. Singapore: Springer (2019; Zbl 1418.42002)]).
