A simple quincunx wavelet with support on triangles (Q1990806)

The author investigates orthonormal wavelet systems and proposes a simple orthonormal wavelet system associated to the quincunx dilation in \(\mathbb R^2\) with four generators. The generators are sums of two constant functions on triangles on the unit square. Continuing his investigation, the author proves that such a system is complete in \(L^p(\mathbb R^2),~1< p <\infty\). Moreover, the author presents a filter bank algorithm corresponding to the proposed wavelet system and its associated scaling functions.
