In the words of the authors, a Finsler metric \(F\) is called locally symmetric if for any geodesic \(\gamma \) the covariant derivative of the Riemann curvature satisfies the relation \(D_{\dot{\gamma}}R_{\dot{\gamma}}=0\). In such a geometrical context, the main result of the paper is that if \(F\) is locally symmetric, then the Zermelo deformation \(\widetilde{F}\) with respect to a Killing vector field \(v\) is also a locally symmetric Finsler metric.
