    The paper deals with the asymptotic behavior of solutions to a class of weighted quasilinear elliptic equations which arise from the Euler-Lagrange equation associated with the Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg inequality. Precisely, the authors consider the elliptic problem \[ \begin{cases} -\text{div}\Big(|x|^{ap}|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u\big)=f(x,u) \quad & \text{in}\ \mathbb{R}^n,\\ u\in D^{1,p}(\mathbb{R}^n,|x|^{-ap}), \end{cases} \] where \(f\colon\ \mathbb{R}^n\times \mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}\) is a Carathéodory function satisfying \[ |f(x,s)|\leq \Lambda |x|^{-bq}|s|^{q-1}\quad \text{a.a.}\ x\in \mathbb{R}^n, \forall s\in \mathbb{R}, \] the exponents are such that \[ p>1,\quad a<\frac{n-p}{p},\quad a\leq b < a+1,\quad q=\frac{np}{n-p(1+a-b)} \] and \(D^{1,p}(\mathbb{R}^n,|x|^{-ap})\) is the completion of \(C_c^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)\) with respect to the norm \[ \|u\|_{D^{1,p}(\mathbb{R}^n,|x|^{-ap})}= \left(\int_{\mathbb{R}^n} |x|^{-ap}\nabla u|^p dx\right)^{1/p}. \] The main result of the paper provides sharp pointwise estimates which extend and improve previous results obtained in the unweighted case.
