      The author studies weak solutions to the quasilinear elliptic equation \[ - \Delta_p u - \frac{\mu}{| x|^p} | u|^{p-2} u = Q(x)| u|^{\frac{Np}{N-p} -2} u, \qquad x \in \mathbb R^N, \] where \(p \in (1,N)\), \(\mu \in [0, (\frac{N-p}{p})^p)\), \(Q \in L^\infty (\mathbb R^N)\), and \(\Delta_p u = \nabla \cdot (| \nabla u|^{p-2} \nabla u)\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian operator. The author proves the asymptotic behavior of weak solutions at the origin and at infinity. More precisely, it is proved that \[ | u(x)| \leq C | x|^{-\gamma_1}, \quad | x| < R_0, \quad\text{and}\quad | u(x)| \leq C | x|^{-\gamma_2}, \quad | x| > R_1, \] and that both exponents are sharp, where \(0 \leq \gamma_1 < \gamma_2\) are the two roots of \(\gamma^{p-2}[(p-1)\gamma^2 - (N-p)\gamma] + \mu =0\). Thereby, the author extends results from \textit{B. Abdellaoui} et al. [Boll. Unione Mat. Ital., Sez. B, Artic. Ric. Mat. (8) 9, No. 2, 445--484 (2006; Zbl 1118.35010)], where radial solutions were studied. The proofs rely on a Moser-type iteration, the construction of appropriate super- and subsolutions in bounded and exterior domains, and a comparison principle, a proof of the latter being provided as well.
