    The authors extend research done by \textit{L. V. Kovalev} and \textit{X. Yang} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 487, No. 2, Article ID 124040, 13 p. (2020; Zbl 1439.30078)] by showing that for \(\varphi(z_1,z_2):=c_1z_1+c_2z_2\) with \((c_1,c_2)\in\mathbb C^2\setminus\{(0,0)\}\) one has the best possible estimates \[1\leq \frac{||\varphi||_{H^1{(\mathbb T^2)}^*}}{||\varphi||_{H^4(\mathbb T^2)}}\leq \frac{\pi}{2 \sqrt[4]{6}}\] and that in the lower bound one cannot replace \(H^4(\mathbb T^2)\) by \(H^p(\mathbb T^2)\) for any \(p>4\). As a consequence it is then proved that if \((a,b)\in \mathbb C^2\) satisfies \[\left(\frac{|a|^4+4|ab|^2+|b|^4)}{6}\right)^{1/4}\leq \frac{2}{\pi},\] then there is harmonic map \(h:\mathbb D\to \mathbb D\) with \(h(0)=0\), \(\partial h(0)=a\) and \(\overline\partial h(0)=b\). Note that a necessary condition for such a harmonic map is that \(|a|+|b|\leq 4/\pi\).
