The paper is devoted to the study of a linear Schrödinger cocycle over a mixing Markov shift, which is based on the classical example of \textit{Y. Kifer} [Z. Wahrscheinlichkeitstheor. Verw. Geb. 61, 83--95 (1982; Zbl 0479.60019)]. The authors show that the integrated density of states has a very weak modulus of continuity.
