By a compact continuous family of \(n\)-dimensional complex manifolds we mean a tuple \(M := (M, X, \pi, S)\) where \(M\) and \(X\) are compact Hausdorff spaces, \(\pi\) is a continuous surjection \(M\to X\), \(S\) is a system of local trivial coordinate neighborhoods on \(M\) in the sense that any \(\varphi\in S\) is a map from a non-empty open subset \(M_\varphi\) of \(M\) to the unit open polydisk \(D^n\) and there exists an open subset \(X_\varphi\) of \(X\) such that \(p\mapsto \big(\varphi(p), \pi(p)\big)\) is a homeomorphism \(M_\varphi \leftrightarrow D^n \times X_\varphi\), we have \(M = \bigcup_{\varphi \in S} M_\varphi\), and, for any base point \(t\in X\), the fiber \(\pi^{-1}\{ t\}\) becomes an \(n\)-dimensional complex manifold with the holomorphic atlas \(\big\{ \varphi\vert t : \varphi\in S, \ t\in X_\varphi\big\}\) of the restrictions \(\varphi\vert t := \varphi\vert_{M_{\varphi,t}}\) where \(M_{\varphi,t} := M_\varphi \cap \pi^{-1}(\{ t\})\). The chief aim of the paper is to to study the existence of a natural \(C(X)\)-manifold structure on the set \(\Gamma(M) := \big\{ u\in C(X,M): \pi\big( u(t)\big) = t \ \ (t\in X) \big\}\) of all global continuous cross sections of \(M\) described above. Recall that, given a commutative Banach algebra \(A\), by an \(A\)-manifold we mean a complex Banach manifold with local charts ranging in Banach \(A\)-modules such that the Fréchet derivatives of the transition maps are compatible with the \(A\)-multiplication. The author's main result is a canonical local construction in terms of the tangent space and finite bump systems for a system of holomorphic charts which makes any family \(\Gamma(M\vert T):= \big\{ u\in C(T,M): \pi\big( u(tt)\big)=t \ (t\in T)\big\}\) of sections over a normal subset \(T\) of \(X\) a \(C_b(T)\)-manifold (where \(C_b(T):= \{\text{bounded continuous functions }T\to\mathbb{C} \}\) with \(\sup\)-norm). As an important consequence, \(\Gamma(M)\) is a finite-dimensional \(C(X)\)-manifold whenever the base space \(X\) is contractible. The paper is written in a highly self-contained style.
