Using the method introduced in [\textit{J. M. Campbell} et al., J. Math. Anal. Appl. 479, No. 1, 90--121 (2019; Zbl 1423.33003)], the authors show that series involving second, third or fourth power of central binomial coefficients and a rational function of special form can be expressed as rational multiples of \(\frac{1}{\pi}\), \(\frac{1}{\pi^2}\) or the leminiscate constant. The authors consider also ``twisted hypergeometric series'' with their twisting coefficients being harmonic numbers or generalized harmonic numbers.
