In this paper, \(A\) is an Artin algebra of form \(A = \mathbb{K}Q/I\) where \(Q\) is a finite connected quiver, \(I\) is an admissible ideal, and \(\mathbb{K}\) a field. Modules are assumed to be finitely generated right modules. The invariant of interest in this paper is the \textit{\(\phi\)-dimension} of \(A\); it is the number \(\phi\operatorname{dim}(A) = \sup\{\phi(M)\}\) where the supremum is taken over all \(A\)-modules \(M\) and \(\phi\) is the (right) Igusa-Todorov function. Two main results in the paper are: For a radical square zero algebra \(A\) one has \(\phi\operatorname{dim}(A) = \phi\operatorname{dim}(A^{\mathrm{op}})\); and under suitable additional conditions one has \(\phi\operatorname{dim}(A) = m+1\) where \(m\) is the size of the biggest Jordan block associated to \(0\) in the adjacency matrix of \(Q\).
