This book provides an introduction to modeling, analysis and simulation techniques for fluid-structure interactions. The book is divided into three parts. The first part gives an overview of different material laws and an introduction to the basic models of continuum mechanics. The first part contains also an introduction to the finite element method and into methods for time discretization of partial differential equations.
