Magidor cardinals have been introduced by \textit{S. Garti} and \textit{Y. Hayut} [J. Math. Soc. Japan 70, No. 1, 1--23 (2018; Zbl 1478.03074)] as Jónsson cardinals upon replacing colorings of finite subsets by colorings of \(\aleph_0\)-bounded subsets. Here, the authors start with a model-theoretic characterization of Magidor cardinals. They are interested in the consistency strength of Magidor cardinals. Furthermore, they introduce Magidor filters. Using the axiom of choice, they show that there are no Magidor filters. Without the axiom of choice, the existence of Magidor filters is possible. The authors obtain that the consistency strength of Magidor cardinals is far from the consistency strength of Jónsson cardinals.
