Let \(F\) be a family of subgroups of a discrete group \(G\) and let \(E_FG\) be the classifying space for \(G\)-actions with stabilizers in \(F\). The minimal dimension of any model for \(E_FG\) is called the \textit{Bredon geometric dimension} \(gd_FG\) of \(G\). There is also a definition of Bredon cohomological dimension \(cd_FG\) of \(G\). If \(cd_FG\geq 3\) then it is known that \(cd_FG=gd_FG\) holds. The authors show: { Main Theorem} Let \((W, S)\) be a right-angled Coxeter system for which the nerve is an acyclic 2-complex that cannot be embedded in any contractible 2-complex. Let \(F\) be the family of all virtually cyclic subgroups of \(W\). If \(W\) is word-hyperbolic, then \(cd_FW=2\) and \(gd_FW=3\). If \(W\) is not word-hyperbolic, then \(cd_FW=gd_FW\geq 3\).
