Midconvex and additive set-valued functions have been studied by many authors, including \textit{Z. Gajda} and \textit{R. Ger} [in: General inequalities 5, 5th Int. Conf., Oberwolfach/FRG 1986, ISNM 80, 281--291 (1987; Zbl 0639.39014)], \textit{A. Smajdor} [Aequationes Math. 39, No. 2--3, 121--128 (1990; Zbl 0706.39006)], \textit{K. Nikodem} and \textit{D. Popa} [Publ. Math. 75, No. 1--2, 239--249 (2009; Zbl 1212.39041)], \textit{J. Brzdȩk}, \textit{D. Popa} and \textit{B. Xu} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 74, No. 1, 324--330 (2011; Zbl 1205.39025)]. In the paper under review, the authors show that, under certain circumstances, every approximately midconvex function \(F\) from an additive semigroup to compact convex subsets of a topological vector space can be approximated by a set-valued mapping. They also prove that there exists a maximal midconvex set-valued mapping, which approximates \(F\).
