Kähler structures play a prominent role in even dimension and it is not clear which type of almost contact structure should be taken to be the odd-dimensional analogue of Kähler structures. The most natural candidates seem to be Sasakian and co-Kähler structures (or, more generally, cosymplectic structures). In the reviewed paper, cosymplectic structures for which the Reeb vector field is Killing are considered. Such structures are called \(K\)-cosymplectic. Every co-Kähler structure is \(K\)-cosymplectic, but different examples of \(K\)-cosymplectic non co-Kähler structures are presented. Motivated by the existing theory of \(K\)-contact manifolds the authors develop a theory of \(K\)-cosymplectic manifolds. They introduce several useful concepts in analogy, such as the distinction between regular, quasi-regular, and irregular structures and prove a structure theorem for compact \(K\)-cosymplectic manifolds. The authors show that the de Rham and the basic cohomology of compact \(K\)-cosymplectic manifold contain the same information. Next they investigate cosymplectic and Hamiltonian vector fields and group actions on such manifolds. The deformations of type I and II for cosymplectic manifolds are considered and applying deformations the authors show that on any compact \(K\)-cosymplectic manifold there exists a \(K\)-cosymplectic structure which is either regular or quasi-regular. Finally, the authors consider Hamiltonian group actions and use the momentum map to study the equivariant cohomology of the canonical torus action on a compact \(K\)-cosymplectic manifold. They investigate the relation between closed Reeb orbits and basic cohomology on a such manifold.
