This paper primarily provides an extensive survey of some recent ergodic results for Riemann surface laminations, with or without singularities, especially those for singular holomorphic foliations by curves. However new results are also presented, especially involving a heat equation in the context of a lamination: conditions are given for abstract heat diffusions associated to a harmonic measure of a Riemann surface lamination with singularities to coincide with leafwise heat diffusions for an endowed leafwise Poincaré metric. Proofs, or at least sketches, are included, as well as a number of problems and an extensive bibliography.
