On convergence theorems for generalized alpha nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces (Q2024577)

The paper investigates approximation theorems to the fixed point for generalized \(\alpha\)-nonexpansive mappings. The authors establishing certain strong and weak convergence theorems of fixed points for the generalized \(\alpha\)-nonexpansive mapping via the application of the Mann iteration. Furthermore, the same results are established with the Ishikawa iteration process in the uniformly convex Banach space setting. The paper expand results presented in [\textit{K.-K. Tan} and \textit{H.-K. Xu}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 178, No. 2, 301--308 (1993; Zbl 0895.47048); \textit{H. Y. Zhou}, Acta Math. Sin., Engl. Ser. 20, No. 5, 829--836 (2004; Zbl 1083.47060)].
