    Let \(d\geq 1\) be an integer and \(p_*=1+\frac4d\). The paper under review establishes the existence of a non-zero radially symmetric solution \(\Psi=\Psi_{p,b}\in \dot{H}^1(\mathbb R^d)\cap C^2(\mathbb R^d)\) of \[ (*)\quad\begin{array}{l} \Delta\Psi-\Psi+ib\left(\frac{2}{p-1}\psi+x\cdot\nabla\Psi\right)+|\Psi|^{p-1}\Psi=0~\text{ on }~\mathbb R^d\\ E(\Psi):=\frac12\|\nabla\Psi\|_{L^2}^2-\frac1{p+1}\|\Psi\|_{L^{p+1}}^{p+1}=0 \end{array} \] provided that \(0<p-p_*<\varepsilon\ll 1\) and \(b=b(p)\) for some \(\varepsilon>0\) and \(b(p)>0\). As a consequence, given \(T>0\), the ansatz \[ u(t,x)=\frac1{{2b(2(T-t))}^{\frac1{p-1}}}\exp\left(-i\frac{\log(T-t)}{2b} \right)\Psi\left(\frac{x}{\sqrt{2b(T-t)}}\right) \] provides a solution of the non-linear Schrödinger equation \[ i\partial_tu+\Delta u+|u|^{p-1}u=0 \] which blows-up at the time \(T\). Furthermore, the authors of the paper under review study the qualitative behavior of the solution \(\Psi_{p,b}\) of \((*)\) as \(p\searrow p_*\), by establishing the following properties: \begin{itemize} \item \(b(p)\sim b_{s_c}(p)\) where \(b_{s_c}(p)\) is ecplicitly defined interms of \(s_c(p):=\frac{d}2-\frac{2}{p-1}\ll 1\)\,; \item \(\Psi_{p,b}\) bifuracates from the ground state soliton profile\,; \item Non-oscillatory behavior for the outgoing wave, i.e. the profile of \(\Psi_{p,b}(x)\) at infinity is monotonc with respect to \(r=|x|\gg 1\). \end{itemize}
