Let \((X, \Delta)\) be a log Calabi-Yau pair of dimension \(d\), \textsl{i.e.} a log canonical pair such that \(m(K_X+\Delta) \sim 0\) for some \(m>0\). The birational morphisms of \(X\) that preserve the pair form a group \(\operatorname{Bir}(X, \Delta)\) which has a natural action \(\rho_m\) on \(H^0(X, m(K_X+\Delta)) \). According to a famous conjecture, the image of these representations has to be uniformly bounded. More precisely, it is conjectured that for every \(d\) and \(m\) fixed, there exists an integer \(N\) such that \(| \rho_m(\operatorname{Bir}(X, \Delta))|<N\). The main result of this paper is to prove this conjecture in dimension two. As an application, the authors prove the index conjecture for projective slc pairs in dimension three and in a particular case in dimension four. More precisely, they show that for any finite subset \(I\subset [0,1] \cap \mathbb{Q}\) there exists an integer \(m\) that depends on \(I\) such that if \((X, \Delta)\) is a projective slc pair of dimension at most three such that the coefficients of \(\Delta\) are in \(I\) and \(K_X+\Delta\sim_\mathbb{Q} 0\), then \(m(K_X+\Delta)\sim 0\).
