The subject of the article is the Phan-Thien-Tanner model for viscoelastic fluids, which differs from the Oldroyd-B model in an additional nonlinear stress-dissipative term. The authors study the associated initial value problem in a framework of critical Besov spaces. They show that, if the initial data are sufficiently close to those of a particular solution, then the local-in-time solution exists globally.
