Let \(x_0\in \mathbb{R}^n\), \(p,q\in(0,\infty)\) and \(\omega\) be a nonnegative function on \((0,\infty)\) satisfying \[\int_t^\infty \frac{\omega(r)^q}{r}\,dr<\infty,\quad \forall r\in(0,\infty).\] Recall that the local Morrey space \({M}^{p,q,\omega}_{\{x_0\}}(\mathbb{R}^n)\) and the global Morrey space \({M}^{p,q,\omega}(\mathbb{R}^n)\) on the Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^n\) are defined, respectively, to be the space of all locally \(p\)-integrable functions \(f\) such that \[\|f\|_{{M}^{p,q,\omega}_{\{x_0\}}(\mathbb{R}^n)}:=\left(\int_0^\infty \omega(r)^q \|f \textbf{1}_{B(x_0,r)}\|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)}^q \frac{dr}{r}\right)^{1/q}\] and \[\|f\|_{{M}^{p,q,\omega}(\mathbb{R}^n)}:=\sup_{x\in\mathbb{R}^n}\left(\int_0^\infty \omega(r)^q \|f \textbf{1}_{B(x,r)}\|_{L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)}^q \frac{dr}{r}\right)^{1/q}\] are finite. The main purpose of this paper is to study the embedding from \({M}^{p,q,\omega}_{\{x_0\}}(\mathbb{R}^n)\) into the weighted Lebesgue space \(L^p(\mathbb{R}^n,v)\) when \(1\le p,q<\infty\). Under some assumptions on \(\omega\), the following embeddings are proved: \[{M}^{p,1,\omega}_{\{x_0\}}(\mathbb{R}^n) \hookrightarrow L^p(\mathbb{R}^n,\omega(|\cdot-x_0|))\] and \[{M}^{p,q,\omega}_{\{x_0\}}(\mathbb{R}^n) \hookrightarrow L^p(\mathbb{R}^n,w_{x_0}),\quad \forall q\in(1,\infty),\] where \(w_{x_0} \) is a ``slight distortion'' of \(\omega(|\cdot-x_0|)\) (these also imply that the global Morrey spaces enjoy the same embeddings). In the case \(q > p\), it is shown that the embedding, in general, cannot hold with \(\omega=v\). For global Morrey spaces, the authors consider and obtain some similar embeddings as above, and the target spaces should be changed from weighted Lebesgue spaces to weighted Stummel spaces. Similar embeddings for complementary Morrey type spaces, and the inverse embeddings of weighted Lebesgue spaces into Morrey type and complementary Morrey spaces are also considered. These results also lead to some similar embeddings for Herz spaces.
