In this paper, the authors introduce the notions of quasiconvexity, Wright convexity and convexity for functions defined on a metric abelian group and derive their structural properties. In particular, various characterizations of the properties of the function classes introduced are derived, proved and well discussed. The results obtained generalize several well-known results in the literature to to this new setting.
