The authors consider a one dimensional nonlinear degenerate parabolic equation. To derive a high order augmented finite volume scheme, the authors firstly derive the truncated Puiseux series expansion of the solution at singularity which contains unknown functions. Subsequently, the discretization of the equation in space and time is performed to design two high order multi-augmented schemes and improved augmented finite volume schemes on uniform grids. The unknown parameters in Puiseux series and solutions in regular domain can be solved from the nonlinear systems. A two-dimensional example with corner singularities also shows that the proposed methods can be extended to higher dimensional degenerate problems. Some other numerical tests are presented to show the efficiency of the proposed method.
