    The paper under review deals with regularity theory for nonlinear elliptic equations of double-phase type. Precisely, the authors prove global estimates in Lorentz spaces for the distributional solutions of nonuniformly elliptic equations \[ -\text{div}\big(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u+a(x)|\nabla u|^{q-2}\nabla u\big)=-\text{div}\big(|\mathbf{F}|^{p-2}\mathbf{F}+a(x)|\mathbf{F}|^{q-2} \mathbf{F}\big). \] The regularity estimates are given in terms of maximal and fractional maximal operators and the results obtained generalize these of [\textit{M. Colombo} and \textit{G. Mingione}, J. Funct. Anal., 270, 1416--1478 (2016; Zbl 1479.35158); \textit{S.-S. Byun} and \textit{J. Oh}, Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ., 56, 46 (2017; Zbl 1378.35139)] to the case of Lorentz spaces.
