This paper studies input-to-state stability and Lyapunov functions with explicit domains for SIR model of infectious disease. The input-to-state stability of the SIR model with respect to perturbation of the newborn and immigration rate is shown in both the endemic and disease-free cases. The method of geometric construction of input-to-state stability Lyapunov function is applied. The bifurcation takes place as a continuous change of the transient and the steady state with respect to the change of the new born and immigration rate. It is shown that the bifurcation is not discontinuous. The paper derives analytical results for disease-free equilibrium and endemic equilibrium. Difficulties and keys for Lyapunov construction are discussed in the context of SIR epidemic modelling.
