The Gelfand-Tsetlin dynamical systems are integrable systems defined on conjugacy classes of Hermitian matrices. They were introduced almost 40 years ago by \textit{V. Guillemin} and \textit{S. Sternberg} [J. Funct. Anal. 52, 106--128 (1983; Zbl 0522.58021)]. \textit{D. I. Panyushev} and \textit{O. S. Yakimova} [Math. Z. 295, No. 1--2, 101--127 (2020; Zbl 1444.17005)] recently proved their integrability on coadjoint orbits of the compact unitary Lie groups \(\mathrm{U}(n)\) and \(\operatorname{SO}(n)\). In this paper the authors show how to define Lax pairs for Gelfand-Tsetlin integrable systems for (co)adjoint orbits of \(\mathrm{U}(n)\) and \(\operatorname{SO}(n)\). They also describe the algebraic curves associated to the Lax pairs and provide many examples which help the reader in the understanding of the results.
