The authors consider a partial data inverse problems of recovering an unknown potential and possibly a grounded cavity in the semilinear equation \(\Delta u + a(x, u) = 0\) from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map by higher order linearization. The function \(a(x,z)\) is assumed to be smooth and satisfy certain other properties, while the Drichlet data is assumed to be sufficiently smooth and small. There is a result about detecting a grounded cavity (with \(u = 0\)) at the same time as recovering the Taylor series of the function \(a(x,z)\) at \(z = 0\), which can also be used to detect an unknown part of the boundary in certain partial data situations. The proofs use complex geometrical optics solutions and partial data results for the linearized Calderón's problem. There is some overlap with results in [\textit{K. Krupchyk} and \textit{G. Uhlmann}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 148, No. 2, 681--685 (2020; Zbl 1431.35246)], which appeared at the same time.
