\textit{M. Kontsevich} has proved the existence and classification of formal star products [Lett. Math. Phys. 66, No. 3, 157--216 (2003; Zbl 1058.53065)] now known as deformation quantization and the so-called formality theorem. However, originally, this theorem is given only on Euclidean spaces. Then \textit{V. A. Dolgushev} proves the theorem for general manifolds [A proof of Tsygan's formality conjecture for an arbitrary smooth manifold. Cambridge, MA: MIT (PhD Thesis) (2005)] based on \textit{B. Fedosov}'s formal geometric methods [Deformation quantization and index theory. Berlin: Akademie Verlag (1996; Zbl 0867.58061)] and many techniques developed by others. This work provides an alternative global version of the twisting procedure used by Dolgushev to prove formality theorems. In fact, it amounts to show that the Fedosov resolutions obtained by Dolgushev form resolutions of \(L_\infty\)-modules. The key ingredients are \(L_\infty\)-resolutions of the Fedosov resolutions obtained by Dolgushev and an adapted notion of Maurer-Cartan element. They establish a formality theory of Hochschild cochains (and also one for Hochschild chains). Then, the desired formality maps can be obtained as a twisted morphism of the relevant resolutions.
