This paper investigates algebras of finite global dimension \(d\) admitting an \(n\)-cluster tilting subcategory when \(d \geq n\). When \(d=n\), the algebras are called \(n\)-representation-finite and have been studied extensively (see [\textit{M. Herschend} and \textit{O. Iyama} Compos. Math. 147, No. 6, 1885--1920 (2011; Zbl 1260.16016); Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 43, No. 3, 449--466 (2011; Zbl 1275.16012); \textit{O. Iyama} and \textit{S. Oppermann}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 363, No. 12, 6575--6614 (2011; Zbl 1264.16015); Adv. Math. 244, 23--68 (2013; Zbl 1338.16018)]). When \(d>n\), instead such algebras are called \((n,d)\)-representation-finite. The main result of the paper is to explicitly construct such algebras. It presents classes of examples for \(n\) odd and any \(d\), and for \(n\) even and any \(d\geq 2n\) or any \(d\) \textit{even}. (Note that the abstract and the introduction state erroneously ``\(d\) odd'' in the last case; the result is correctly stated in Theorem~5.14, and the \((n,d)\)-representation-finite algebras for \(n\) even and \(d\) \textit{even} are given in point (a) of Proposition~5.11.) Previously, most examples known of such algebras assumed a divisibility condition between \(d\) and \(n\) (as in [\textit{G. Jasso}, Math. Z. 283, No. 3--4, 703--759 (2016; Zbl 1356.18005)]). The author also previously gave other examples [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 223, No. 5, 2101--2122 (2019; Zbl 1403.16010)], notably one for \(n=2\) and \(d=3\) that shows that the theorem does not exhaust all possible pairs \(n,d\) for which there exist an \((n,d)\)-representation-finite algebra. The construction works by a process defined by the author as gluing. (See [\textit{V. Bekkert} et al., Commun. Algebra 43, No. 10, 4247--4257 (2015; Zbl 1357.16030); \textit{K. Igusa} et al., Commun. Algebra 15, 377--424 (1987; Zbl 0609.16014); \textit{J. Lévesque}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 212, No. 5, 1149--1161 (2008; Zbl 1176.16015)]). The idea is to glue together algebras admitting \textit{\(n\)-fractured subactegories}, a more general form of the \(n\)-cluster tilting subcategories presented by the author in [Zbl 1403.16010]. Sufficiently repeating the process gives an algebra admitting a proper \(n\)-cluster tilting subcategory. This machinery is then applied to acyclic Nakayama algebras and provides the classes of examples needed for the theorem. The inclusion of many examples and of the necessary material make it a very pleasant and pedagogical reading.
