The dynamics of a first order oscillator \[ \dot{y}=-ay-\sin (\pi \omega t), \] along with two swithing rules as discontinuities at 0, either \[ \sin (\pi \omega t)=\frac{1}{2}(1+\lambda)\sin (\pi \omega_+ t)+\frac{1}{2}(1-\lambda)\sin (\pi \omega_- t) \] or \[ \sin (\pi \omega t)=\sin([(1+\lambda)\omega_++(1-\lambda)\omega_-]\frac{\pi t}{2}) \] is being investigated by the authors. They show that in the first case a rather simple dynamics appears which is dominated by a stable period 4 orbit. But in the later case, the dynamics is more complex with effects of ageing and multiple time scale phenomena. They also observe that this difference in the behaviour persists under regularization process. The authors declare further investigation of similar type models of second-order oscillator with switching at \(y=0\).
